THERAPY!!!
Celebrating the individual who has passed -Buying yourself something for their birthday & anniversary each year.
Exercise - Walking, running, biking, anything to get endorphins flowing.
Embracing the sad - Having breakdowns and crying uncontrollably is completely normal while grieving! Don’t compare how often you cry to anyone else around you.. everyone copes differently day to day and hour by hour.
Embracing the happy - Celebrating friend milestones (birthdays, weddings, etc), celebrating yourself.
Happiness looks different on everyone - if you feel in a good head space one day, breath that in and allow the feeling to be present.
--a detail that has helped both Chelsea and Jill - thinking about how the person who has passed would want you to continue living and making memories.
Having someone listen - Group therapy or individual therapy, gathering with your best friends for comfort.
Finding signs from heaven - pennies, dimes, cardinals. The book listed above “Signs“ is about how to keep your mind open to seeing those signs from your loved ones!
Honesty-
- - Being honest with yourself about whether you want to be alone or with people.
- - Being honest with those around you about how you are feeling & doing.
Reading a good book - Fiction, Non-fiction, or Personal Development
Gardening - spending time in nature, getting outside to enjoy beautiful weather.
Meditation - breathing techniques, morning, afternoon, or at night time to calm the stress.
** the calm app on iPhone or android is wonderful
** youTube
** Play meditation music while doing chores around the house.
Favorite places- being on the water is extremely comforting for us both. It's very peaceful and calming.
